Suzi Quatro (USA)
Suzi Quatro, fourth of five children, was born under the sign of Gemini on June 3, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan.
She was raised in a musical family that included three sisters and one brother, all of whom played various instruments. Suzi made her stage debut playing bongos in her father’s jazz band, The Art Quatro Trio.
From an early age, Suzi studied classical piano and percussion. At 14, she formed an all-girl band with her older sister Patti called The Pleasure Seekers. Suzi was “assigned” the bass guitar, which was as tall as she was! She quickly became the lead singer and frontwoman of the band.

The Pleasure Seekers toured successfully for seven years, releasing a few singles along the way. In 1969, they changed their name to Cradle. Two years later, producer Mickie Most attended a concert and offered Suzi a solo contract. In 1971, she flew to England to begin her journey to fame.
Soon after, Suzi began collaborating with legendary songwriters Chinn and Chapman, with Mike Chapman also producing. This partnership led to her breakout hit Can the Can, which went to number one in May 1973, selling two and a half million copies worldwide.

Between 1973 and 1980, Suzi Quatro appeared in the British charts for 101 weeks and sold over 55 million records to date.
Her hits include:
-
48 Crash
-
Too Big

From 1977 to 1979, Suzi expanded her career into acting, landing a role in the worldwide hit TV series Happy Days as Leather Tuscadero, alongside Henry Winkler and Ron Howard. She continued acting in shows like Minder, Dempsey and Makepeace, Absolutely Fabulous, and Midsomer Murders.
In 1986, Suzi made her West End debut in the leading role of Annie Oakley in Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun, earning critical acclaim.

In 1988, she hosted her own talk show, Gas Street, which ran for a year.
In 1989, Suzi was one of the first rock-and-roll acts to perform in Russia, drawing over half a million attendees in just six weeks.

In 1991, she fulfilled a lifelong ambition by co-writing and starring in the musical Talullah Bankhead, which ran its full five-week season and received high praise despite critics not being officially allowed to review it.
Suzi’s radio career began in 1999 with BBC Radio 2, where she has hosted weekly programs and documentaries on artists like Elvis Presley, Otis Redding, Janis Joplin, and Jim Morrison.
Her popularity as a DJ earned her a nomination for Music Broadcaster of the Year at the Sony Radio Awards in 2006.
In the same year, she was featured on This Is Your Life during her 56-date UK tour.
In 2006, Suzi released Back to the Drive, an autobiographical album that became a fan favorite worldwide.
